Avoid Overage Charges

Commercial Trash Services
All trash should be placed inside of your designated trash container. The only materials that should be placed in the black trash cart are those that are non-recyclable and non-organic materials. Trash containers range from 2 cubic yard size bins to 6 cubic yard size bins.
Commercial Recycling Services
Commingled recyclable material should be placed loosely in white recycling bin; your recycling bin can range in size from a 2 cubic yard bin to a 6 cubic yard bin. All material must be inside the bin. Any items outside of the bin, on top of the bin’s closed lid, or left on the street will not be collected.

SB 1383 SLCP - Short-lived Climate Pollutants: Organic Waste Methane Emissions Reductions
The California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery released revisions to the proposed regulations to reduce organic waste in landfills. Senate Bill 1383 directed CalRecycle to adopt regulations to reduce organic waste by 50 percent from its 2014 baseline level by 2020 and 75 percent by 2025. SB 1383 also requires the regulations to recover, for human consumption, at least 20 percent of edible food that is currently thrown away.

Waiver Process
SB 1383 requires all business and multifamily complexes (with 5 units or more) to arrange for recycling and organic waste recycling services. However, the law does allow for case-by-case waivers if businesses and multifamily complexes meet specific criteria.
Updated waiver applications are coming soon! Please reach out to CoronaRecycles@CoronaCA.gov for more information.
Commercial businesses are permitted to self-haul their solids but must show proof of compliance with the City's self-haul requirements. Click on the application below for more details.
Assembly Bill (AB) 827 – Solid Waste: Commercial and Organic Waste: Recycling Bins
Effective July 1, 2020, businesses, except full-service restaurants, must provide organic waste and recycling bins at the front-of-house to collect recyclables and organic waste (e.g., food scraps) generated from products purchased on-site. These bins must be placed adjacent to trash bins and be visible, easily accessible, and clearly labeled. Recyclable items include empty and dry cardboard, mixed paper, cans, and bottles. Organic items can include food scraps such as prepared foods, meat, or dairy. [AB 827, McCarty (Chapter 441)]
