Wes Speake
Wes Speake was first elected to the Corona City Council in November 2018, becoming the inaugural representative for the city’s 5th District, which includes South Corona, Eagle Glen, and Dos Lagos. He served as Mayor of Corona in 2022 and was reelected to a second council term that same year.
Wes and his wife, Mary, have five children and three grandchildren. A Corona resident since 1980, Wes has lived in the 5th District area since 2001. He attended Corona schools and graduated from Corona High School in 1986. He later earned associate degrees from Riverside Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management from the University of Redlands, and a certificate in Land Use and Environmental Planning from the University of California, Riverside.
Professionally, Wes serves as President and COO of a California-based environmental consulting firm headquartered in Riverside. The firm provides environmental studies and regulatory permitting services, including endangered species assessments, cultural resources, air quality and climate change analysis, noise and traffic studies, for commercial clients as well as state, local, and federal agencies. Mary has owned and operated a martial arts studio in the 5th District for more than a decade.
Wes is deeply committed to the Corona community. He has served on the Board of Trustees for the Corona Public Library, the Corona Parks Foundation, the Corona Community Task Force for the SR-91 Project, the Circle City Substation Task Force, and was an active member of the Greater Corona Traffic Alliance. He was also a board member of the Riverside Community College District Foundation. A graduate of the Corona Chamber of Commerce Executive Leadership Roundtable, Wes has led the Corona Historic Preservation Society as President since 2016.
Within city government, Wes has chaired the McKinley Grade Separation, Water Meter Sizing, and Permitting and Plan Check ad hoc committees, as well as the Infrastructure Committee for two years. His regional and statewide leadership roles include:
