Corona's electric utility was established on April 2001 in response to state-wide rolling blackouts and electric price instability.
Corona's electric utility was established on April 4, 2001, by City Council Resolution No.2001-25 in response to statewide rolling blackouts and electric price instability. Corona’s current peak demand for the electric utility is 25.8 MW. The utility provides fully bundled “Greenfield” electric service to residents and businesses within the City’s electric service area. New developments will become customers of the Corona electric utility if they are in the City’s electric service area and capacity is available. Click here for a map of our electric service areas.
The electric utility also provides energy procurement or“generation” services through the Direct Access Program to municipal and commercial customers within the City.
