In an effort to continue documenting the history of the Corona area during the COVID-19 closure of the Library & Heritage Room, an online image donation form is now available. Participants will be prompted to sign-in using a Google Account. We are currently accepting jpeg and tiff images.

What kind of images are we looking for? Images that tell your unique story. Special occasions, daily life, local businesses are just some examples. Any image that documents what is important to you.

The Heritage Room Collection was built by the community, for the community. Help continue that tradition by sharing your story. Donated material will be added to Corona Heritage Online.

Monday & Tuesday 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Wednesday by appointment only
Thursday 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Friday, Saturday & Sunday Closed
*Hours are subject to staff availability.

Research Appointments

Research appointments are available Monday through Thursday, during the Heritage Room's closed hours. Please contact us at least one week in advance to schedule an appointment. Access to the Heritage Room on Wednesdays is restricted to appointment only. Heritage Room staff are also available for tours.


Visiting the Heritage Room

The Heritage Room has specific guidelines in place for the use of the collection. These guidelines / rules are in place to ensure access to the collection while maintaining the availability of the historical material now and in the years to come. Researchers are responsible for knowing all the Heritage Room guidelines in effect. Detailed guidelines are available at the link below and are posted in the room. Free Wi-Fi is available and a limited number of outlets are available to charge computer equipment.

User Guidelines for the Heritage Room


Copying & Reproductions

Please ask staff before photocopying, scanning, or photographing any material (some items may be too fragile). Photographs, postcards, negatives, slides, and other fragile materials cannot be photocopied or scanned by researchers. Researchers are permitted to photograph material, however, the camera or phone flash must be turned off. Staff members are always available to assist you with this process.

The Heritage Room has a color photocopier / scanner available to the public. Copies are $0.25 per page. If you would like to scan an item from the collection, please bring a flash drive with you. Our scanner is not equipped with a ‘scan and send’ feature.

High Quality Digital Reproductions

High quality reproductions of all images are available for $7.50/ image. Revenue generated from the purchase of digital reproductions from the W.D. Addison Heritage Room assists in the preservation of the collection. A reproduction order form must be completed and the intended use of the image(s) must be stated.

Selling or making public copies of images

Copies from the Heritage Room Collection are for private use and study only. Researchers cannot sell or pass on any photocopies or reproductions of images from the archive. Written permission must be obtained from the Heritage Room Librarian to publish or reproduce any images from the archives.


Donating to the Heritage Room

The W.D. Addison Heritage Room relies on the generosity of its donors to build its archive and special collections. Donations of books, cash and other materials are accepted. The Heritage Room’s collection focuses on Corona related material such as photographs, slides, genealogies, books, manuscripts, yearbooks, maps, textiles, citrus labels, and other ephemera. If you have organizational records (business, club or church records for example), letters, diaries, photographs, books, maps, archival materials or other items that you believe would enhance the Heritage Room’s Collection, please contact the Heritage Room Librarian, Jennifer Marlatt at 951.279.3796 951.279.3796 or by email.

When choosing a title to donate, please click on either add to cart or pre-order. Make sure you don't click on "XX Used & New." Items from non-Amazon sellers cannot be shipped to the Library. Also, make sure you select the Corona Public Library address for shipping. It automatically defaults to your address on file, with CPL being the choice directly to the right. Click on the desired item and order just as you would place an order for yourself. The item is mailed directly to the Corona Public Library and you will receive an acknowledgement for tax purposes. 


Cash Contributions

The Heritage Room is always in need of monetary contributions to purchase new materials and equipment that document, preserve and digitize the history of the Corona area. Cash contributions to the Heritage Room can be made through the Friends of the Corona Public Library's Adopt-A-Book program or through an endowment designated for the Heritage Room.

Who Was W.D. Addison?

WD AddisonW.D. Addison moved to Corona in 1945. Known to his friends as "Addy," he taught history at Corona High School, was principal of the evening high school, and director of Adult Education. He was an active member of many local clubs and served on the Heritage Committee as chairman 1978-1983. The Heritage Room collection is Addy’s legacy to the community. Thanks to his enlistment of community support the Corona Public Library’s Heritage Room officially opened its doors to the public in November 1980.
