VEHICLE VS. PEDESTRIAN HIT-AND-RUN COLLISION
CORONA, CA– On September 1, 2023, at 8:26 A.M., the Corona Police Department responded to a hit-and-run collision at Upper Drive and Rimpau Avenue. Officers determined that a 14-year-old male was riding his bicycle to school when he was struck by a vehicle in the intersection. The vehicle failed to stop at the scene and continued westbound on Upper Drive. Paramedics transported the injured juvenile to the hospital for medical treatment, primarily addressing injuries to his abdomen. He is now in stable condition with his family at his bedside.
The initial investigation led officers to a potential suspect; however, that individual was cleared after additional evidence was processed. The investigation into this hit-and-run collision is still ongoing. We urge our community members to assist us in this matter. The photograph below shows the suspect vehicle driving west on Upper Drive.
