Movies in the Park: A Summer of Family Fun Under the Stars

City of Corona Brings Free Movies to Parks This Summer
The City of Corona is rolling out the outdoor screen for another season of Movies in the Park, giving families five weeks of free films under the summer stars. Starting in July, four parks across the city will host screenings every week, with showtimes beginning at 8:15 p.m.
Residents are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and their favorite snacks and settle in for a night out — no tickets required.
What's Playing
This year's lineup leans into big-screen spectacle, with something for every age group.
Week 1 — Freakier Friday (July 6–10)
The follow-up to the beloved body-swap comedy returns Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis for another round of mother-daughter chaos. Expect laughs, heart, and plenty of nostalgia for anyone who grew up with the original.
Week 2 — How to Train Your Dragon (2025) (July 13–17)
The live-action reimagining of the animated classic follows young Viking Hiccup and his unlikely bond with a dragon named Toothless. A visually stunning choice for families who love adventure and a good friendship story.
Week 3 — Hook (July 20–24)
Steven Spielberg's 1991 classic brings Peter Pan (Robin Williams) back to Neverland as a grown-up lawyer who has forgotten who he once was. A timeless crowd-pleaser packed with imagination, humor, and heart.
Week 4 — Zootopia 2 (July 27–31)
Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde return to the sprawling mammal metropolis for a new mystery and more of the sharp, funny storytelling that made the original an instant classic.
Week 5 — Minecraft (August 3–7)
Based on the world's best-selling video game, this big-screen adventure brings the blocky, build-anything universe to life. A natural hit for kids — and the adults who have secretly been playing alongside them.
Where to Go
Screenings take place at four parks on a rotating weekly schedule:
- Village Park — 860 Village Loop Dr. — Mondays: July 6, 13, 20, 27 · Aug. 3
- Brentwood Park — 1646 Dawn Ridge Dr. — Tuesdays: July 7, 14, 21, 28 · Aug. 4
- Fairview Park — 1604 Fairview Dr. — Wednesdays: July 8, 15, 22, 29 · Aug. 5
- Jameson Park — 1155 Valencia Rd. — Fridays: July 10, 17, 24, 31 · Aug. 7
Each park screens the same film during its assigned week, so families can choose whichever location and night works best for their schedule.

Don't Miss the Street Fair
On Thursdays — the one night without a movie screening — the fun moves to 815 W. 6th St. for the Summer Street Fair. Live music, local food, and family-friendly activities make it a worthy addition to any summer calendar. The fair runs July 9, 16, 23, and 30, with a final date on August 6.
All events are free and open to the public.
