KNIFE-WIELDING HOME BURGLAR ARRESTED

CORONA, CA– On Wednesday, December 6th, 2023, at 6:32 P.M., the Corona Police Department responded to an apartment at the 700 block of Gianni Drive in the City of Corona for a report of a burglary with a weapon.  Officers spoke to the resident victims, who said they were home with their infant daughter when an unknown female knocked on their door.  When the resident opened their door, the female suspect raised a large kitchen knife and entered the apartment.  The suspect asked for an individual who does not live at the residence and began searching the house.  The residents told the female they did not know the person she was looking for, but the female continued to search every room in the apartment before leaving.  Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

On Thursday, December 7th, 2023, at 6:43 P.M., while the residents were away from their apartment, they saw via camera that the suspect had returned and was outside their front door again.  They called the Corona Police Department and provided a description.  Corona officers responded and spoke to neighbors who described a vehicle the suspect was seen leaving in. Approximately 30 minutes after receiving the initial call, a Corona officer stopped a vehicle near E. Sixth Street and E. Grand Boulevard that matched the suspect vehicle description and had a female driver that matched the suspect description.  Corona officers determined the female was the suspect and arrested her without incident.  After learning the suspect was on probation for a case out of San Bernardino County, they responded to her apartment nearby and conducted a probation compliance search. Officers located clothing that matched what the suspect was wearing the day before.

The suspect was identified as 29-year-old Helene Littlewiggins from Corona.  She was booked for burglary and brandishing a weapon and was transported to the Riverside County Jail.  If anyone has information about this incident, please contact the Corona Police Department at (951) 736-2330.
