Corona, CA — On October 6, 2026, the Federal Bureau of Investigation notified the Corona Police Department that they had identified online social media communications regarding a possible school threat to Corona High School.  A collaborative investigation led to the immediate arrest of a 15-year-old female Corona High School student.

Detectives continued with an extensive investigation, including serving numerous search warrants related to electronic devices and communications and conducted searches of several residences in Riverside County. The investigation identified a second suspect, a 15-year-old female Norco High School student, as being involved.

The evidence obtained showed the two suspects had spent several months researching school shootings and discussed how they could carry out a potential attack at Corona High School on an unspecified future date. Communications showed the suspects discussed methods to obtain weapons but had not yet been able to do so. No weapons were located during the searches.

The second suspect was also arrested, and both juveniles currently remain in custody on charges of Conspiracy to Commit Murder. The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case. This investigation is being handled in close partnership with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, and the Corona-Norco Unified School District.
