FATAL HIT-AND-RUN TRAFFIC COLLISION
CORONA, CA – On October 19, 2023, at 10:10 P.M., the Corona Police Department responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian traffic collision in the 200 block of E. Parkridge Avenue. Officers arrived and found a male with significant injuries lying on the roadway and surrounded by vehicle debris. Paramedics arrived shortly after and determined the male had succumbed to his injuries. Officers found a vehicle in the 300 block of N. McKinley Street with damage consistent with the collision a short time later. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 53-year-old Samuel Reyes from Riverside. He was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and later released. The investigation into his possible involvement in the collision is ongoing.
A deputy from the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Office responded to the scene and confirmed the victim's identity as 40-year-old Rodrigo Hernandez from Corona.
