Construction Alert: Alcoa Dike Project – Rincon Street and Butterfield Road Closure Update

The Alcoa Dike Phase II Project, a collaborative effort between the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and the County of Orange, is currently underway. Two crucial tasks must be accomplished and finalized before the opening of Rincon St and Butterfield Connector.
The first task involves the completion of the final construction punch list for both Rincon St and Butterfield Connector. This list is being addressed in collaboration between USACE and their project contractor.
The second task pertains to the road easement for both streets. Currently led by USACE, their real estate team, and the City of Corona, efforts are underway to expedite the completion of this requirement. Both agencies are actively working towards swift finalization.
Upon the successful completion and finalization of these two tasks, USACE will proceed with the reopening of Rincon Street and Butterfield Connector. The City anticipates that Rincon Street and the Butterfield Connector will be opened sometime in February 2024 or sooner.
