Communication Specialist Volunteers

For over 100 years, Amateur Radio — sometimes called ham radio — has allowed people from all walks of life to experiment with electronics and communications techniques, as well as provide a free public service to their communities during a disaster, all without needing a cell phone or the Internet.

The Corona Police Department's Communication Specialist Volunteer Team are part of the Corona team that strives for excellence in providing, operating, and maintaining reliable emergency backup communications in support of the City of Corona and Western Riverside County.

The CSV team holds a weekly net on the CSV repeater every Sunday evening at 8 p.m. This repeater operates on a frequency of 147.225 with a PL of 156.7. The net encourages visitor check-ins and public interest in the CSV program.
