Subject Arrested Following Inappropriate Contact with Student
Corona, CA – On December 5th, 2025, at 10:45 A.M., a female student was walking to Orange Grove High School when an adult male approached her in his vehicle and attempted to engage in conversation. The student walked away, but the suspect drove around and contacted her a second time asking her for, what he referred to as, a “car date.”
The student promptly reported the incident to the School Resource Officer. With the assistance of the Real Time Information Center (RTIC), officers quickly identified the suspect’s vehicle. Corona Police officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in the area of Sixth Street and Fuller Avenue. The suspect was identified as Thomas Asencio, 78 years old, from Eastvale. Thomas was arrested by the School Resource Officer without incident and was charged with soliciting prostitution and annoying a minor under 18 years old.
We are requesting anyone who may have been victimized by Mr. Asencio to contact the Corona Police Department. At the time of the incident, Mr. Asencio was driving a red Hyundai Elantra.
