Corona, CA — On July 29, 2026, at approximately 6:59 p.m., Corona Police officers responded to the 2100 block of S. Promenade Ave. in the City of Corona regarding a single-vehicle traffic collision.
The preliminary investigation revealed the vehicle was traveling westbound on S. Promenade Ave. when it left the roadway for an unknown reason and collided with a tree in the center median. It does not appear any other vehicle was involved. Two adult passengers were transported by ambulance to an area hospital with serious injuries. The driver, identified as 21-year-old Corona resident Azalia Gutierrez, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Corona Police Department’s Collision Response Team responded and assumed the investigation. The cause of the collision remains under investigation, and the possibility that drugs or alcohol were a contributing factor has not been ruled out.
