ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON SUSPECT SHOT BY POLICE
CORONA, CA– On November 18, 2025, at 12:18 AM, Corona Police Dispatch received a call regarding a subject swinging a crowbar at vehicles near Mckinley St. and Promenade Ave., Corona.
Officers responded and located the subject armed with a metal tire iron. The subject refused multiple commands to drop his weapon and an officer involved shooting subsequently occurred. The subject was struck by gunfire and despite life saving measures he was pronounced deceased at the scene. Further investigation revealed that the suspect had used his vehicle to strike another occupied vehicle, resulting in the victim sustaining moderate injuries.
Riverside County Sheriff’s Force Investigations Detail, along with the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office and the Corona Police Department, are investigating the officer involved shooting. The subjects name will not be released until next of kin has been notified.
