The fire has been mapped at 282 acres and the increase in acreage is due to more accurate mapping. The fire continues to smolder and will remain in a patrol and mop-up status. Firefighters will remain on scene over the next several days to improving containment and control lines.

Trail Closure

Skyline Fire Trail Closure Notice

The Unified Incident Commanders of the Skyline fire in Corona, CA have issued a closure notice for the following trails;

• Tin Mine • Skyline

The above closures will remain in effect until further notice allowing fire crews to continue extinguishing the Skyline fire as well as completing necessary suppression repair.

Fire is holding its current perimeter. Steep terrain and hot weather conditions continue to challenge firefighting resources. Firefighters’ current objectives involve patrol and mop up of the fire area as well as improving control lines.

As of 3:00 p.m. on July 20, 2018 all evacuations have been lifted. Residents of the Orchard Glen community may return to their homes with proper identification.

Incident Update Fact Sheet

Firefighting efforts during the day focused on gaining access to hot spots within the burn area and remain challenging due to steep terrain, heavy fuels, and increasing temperatures. Firefighters will continue to focus on gaining additional containment throughout the night.

As of 3:00 p.m. on July 20, 2018 all evacuations have been lifted. Residents of the Orchard Glen community may return to their homes with proper identification.

News Release: Lifting of Mandatory Evacuation Orders

As of 3:00 p.m. on July 20, 2018 the Unified Incident Commanders of the Skyline Fire have lifted the
Mandatory Evacuation Orders for the Mabey Canyon and the Orchard Glen communities. Residents of
the Orchard Glen community may return to their homes as of 3:00 p.m. with proper identification.

July 20, 2018 12:00 p.m.

News Release: Road Closure Update

Effective immediately the Unified Incident Commanders of the Skyline Fire have opened Foothill Parkway in both directions from Lincoln to Paseo Grande. Residents of the Orchard Glen community may be subject to re-entry with proper identification. See the City of Corona’s website at www.coronaca.gov/skylinefire for specific addresses that remain under a mandatory evacuation order.

Incident Update Fact Sheet

The fire burned active throughout the afternoon and evening yesterday with uphill runs, and spotting. Fire behavior moderated overnight due to a decrease in winds and higher humidity values. Firefighting efforts are challenging due to steep terrain and increasing temperatures. Firefighters will continue to focus on gaining additional containment throughout the day.

Some homes in the Mabey Canyon and Orchard Glen communities are currently under evacuation. See the City of Corona’s website at for specific addresses that remain under a mandatory evacuation order.

Evacuation Information

Most evacuations have been lifted with the exception of the following addresses which are still under mandatory evacuation orders which will be held for the remainder of the night:

  • Burrero Way: 1408, 1414, 1420, 1426, 1432, 1438, 1444, 1449, 1450, 1455, 1456, 1461, 1462, 1467, 1468, 1473, 1474, 147
  • Burnett Circle: 1430, 1431, 1436, 1437, 1442, 1443, 1448
  • Folson Circle: 1407, 1413, 1419, 1425
  • Brannon Circle: 1431, 1437, 1443, 1449
  • Rawley Street: 3502, 3510, 3518, 3526, 3540, 3554, 3560, 3572, 3580
  • Gareth Circle: 1431, 1437, 1443, 1449, 1454

Residents not listed in the addresses above can return to their home by taking Lincoln to Foothill. There will be two mandatory ID checks to prove residency. One at Lincoln and Foothill and one at Trudy and Foothill. We appreciate your patience as our officers check IDs. 

Residents who are returning to their homes are asked to park in their driveways and to keep all vehicles out of the roadway. 

Road Closures

Foothill Parkway is expected to stay closed (from Lincoln to Paseo Grande) through the night and tomorrow's morning commute. Please avoid the area. 

Evacuation Shelter

The Red Cross Evacuation Shelter has been closed due to a lack of demand.

Containment

As of 8:25 p.m., the fire is 250 acres and 5% contained. One helicopter from Angeles National Forest and one air attack have been requested to continue water drops for night operations.
