The business of operating the City of Corona benefits from a very successful Council Committee program that was established by previous Mayors. The Committee meetings are attended by at least one of the two members of the City Council Members assigned to each Committee. A third Council Member will be assigned as the alternate. Each Committee will establish the meeting schedule at their first meeting of the year. The Mayor announced his appointments at the December 21, 2016 Council Meeting. The following Committees have been established for 2017:

 

Finance. Legislation, & Economic Development Committee (F.L.E.D.)

Finance, Legislation & Economic Development Committee meetings are the 1st Wednesday of the month at the City Council Board Room, in the third floor of City Hall, at 9:30 a.m.

Topics include:

Franchise agreements      
Fees and rates        
Economic Development Initiatives          
School Issues
Treasury issues
Bonds and CFD’s
Legislative Matters

 

Infrastructure Committee

Infrastructure Committee meetings are held the 1st Wednesday of the month at the City Council Board Room, in the third floor of City Hall, at 8 a.m.

Topics include: 

City Transportation Systems
Transportation and Local Streets/Roads      
Department of Water and Power facilities
Planning
Code Enforcement issues
Landscape and Lighting districts        
Transportation Funding
Public Buildings
General Plan & Zoning
Development Design Standards
Sign Ordinance
Regional Transportation
Park facilities development

 

Public Services Committee

Public Services Committee meetings are held the 1st Wednesday of the month at the City Council Board Room, in the third floor of City Hall, at 3:00 p.m.

Healthy Community Issues          
Public Relations
Arts and Culture
CDBG and Housing Programs
