City of Corona's Homeless Strategic Plan Update
The City of Corona is pleased to provide our community with an update on the City's Homeless Strategic Plan. During the past six months, the Homeless Strategic Plan was developed through a community-wide effort. The key components of the plan include:
- Robust Community Engagement Process
- Comprehensive Needs Assessment
- Homeless Cost Impact Analysis
- Analysis of Best Practices and Models
On May 27, 2020, the Corona City Council conducted a Homeless Strategic Plan Study Session. Community Stakeholders from faith-based organizations, community-based organizations, representatives from the County of Riverside, and Corona residents provided valuable feedback to City Council during the study session.
As a result of this highly collaborative process, the Corona City Council made some important decisions regarding the development of emergency shelter, supportive services, expanded outreach, and permanent supportive housing. These decisions will ultimately improve the quality of life for the homeless as well as businesses and residents in the City of Corona.
The Corona City Council is scheduled to adopt the Homeless Strategic Plan at the June 17, 2020 City Council meeting. If you have questions or comments regarding the Homeless Strategic Plan, please contact the City of Corona Homeless Solutions Coordinator, Karen Roper, at Karen.Roper@CoronaCA.gov.
