Hundreds of community members gathered peacefully today at Santana Park in Corona to express their views and peacefully protest the death of George Floyd. The City of Corona joins our community in grieving and reaffirms its support for justice, equality, and opportunity for all Americans.

“We are deeply pained and saddened by the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. Our community's thoughts and prayers are with his family and with the people of Minneapolis," said Mayor Jim Steiner. "We are grateful for all those who protect and uphold our constitutional rights and for those who pursue justice and oppose inequality. We thank Corona residents for their continued support and commitment to peacefully making their voices heard."

The City of Corona respects peaceful protests as vital to our democracy. We thank our community members for showing restraint in the safe and peaceful gathering that took place today.
