COVID-19: New & Expanded Services from your Corona Public Library

Boy, does your Corona Public Library staff miss seeing you! The silver lining is our staff has developed some new and expanded services during our Safer at Home closure. Do you have a library card already? Great! Do you need one? You can register online for one and use it right away to access these services and resources. 

Zip Books Expanded

Now receive 6 Zip Books a month! What is it? Zip Books is a way for patrons to request books that the Library does not own. The item is shipped directly to you using Amazon Prime. For more information, click here. (Zip Books can only be used with a full access library card.) 

New eMedia Services

For access to all the Corona Public Library’s eMedia services please click here. Below are a few of our favorites:

Hoopla: A digital service with an enormous selection of digital video (movies and TV shows), music, audiobooks, ebooks and comics. The service is available until May 31, 2020.

Kanopy: Kanopy is a video streaming solution offering access to more than 30,000 documentaries, movies, and educational videos from thousands of producers such as Criterion Collection, PBS, Great Courses, Kino Lorber and more. Titles are always available. There are no holds or waiting lists. Users are limited to 10 items/month. If the library's monthly quota is reached, users may have to wait until the next month to checkout.

Kanopy Kids: Kanopy’s dedication to thoughtful entertainment includes educational and engaging videos for children of all ages. Parents can trust that our catalog encourages social and emotional development, promotes respect for community diversity, and inspires creativity. Browse Kanopy Kids and discover the videos that spark children’s imagination. Titles are always available. There are no holds or waiting lists. Users are limited to 10 items/month. If the library's monthly quota is reached, users may have to wait until the next month to checkout.

New Online Resources

For access to all the Corona Public Library’s online resources please click here. Below are a few of our favorites:

EBSCO: EBSCO is granting school and public libraries free access to their School and Public Libraries Resource Center for tools and information to help serve students and patrons. Free and expanded content includes the following: Distance Learning Resources, College Admissions Test Prep Resources from EBSCO LearningExpress® and GED® Test Prep from EBSCO LearningExpress. Free through June 30, 2020. 

Gale CENGAGE Learning: Access to a variety of resources during the COVID-19 local emergency including Miss Humblebee's Academy, Kids InfoBits, Gale in Context: Middle School, Gale In Context: High School, and Gale In Context: College.

Lifeliqe: The largest library with scientifically verified 3D, AR and VR content for online learning. Lifeliqe is providing free access to all librarians, patrons, students, and schools for remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

World Book: Early Learning, eBooks, Activity Corner, Discover, Dramatic Learning, Kids eLearn, Science Power & more! World Book is providing free access to all librarians, patrons, students, and schools for remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.
