Post Date:03/12/2020 4:43 PM

Riverside County health officials monitoring spread of coronavirus; report no local cases

The City of Corona continues to assess the impact of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). In accordance with the Riverside County public health officer order, the City of Corona will be cancelling all events with an expected attendance of at least 250 individuals taking place between March 12, 2020 and April 30, 2020.

The City of Corona is also advising residents to avoid non-essential gatherings to protect public health and slow the spread of COVID-19. If you must attend a gathering, please implement social distancing of six feet per person. Gatherings of individuals who are at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19, specifically our senior community and those with underlying health conditions, should be limited to no more than 10 people, while also following social distancing guidelines.

CORONA SENIOR CENTER CLOSED

In an abundance of caution, to protect our vulnerable populations, and in coordination with the Riverside County Public Health’s guidance, the City of Corona will be closing the Corona Senior Center effective Friday, March 13th, until further notice.

These efforts are taking place in order to reduce the likelihood of exposure to COVID-19, thereby slowing the spread of COVID-19 worldwide.

PUBLIC FACILITIES

Corona City Hall and other facilities are currently open during normal business hours. However, the public is strongly encouraged to request assistance telephonically or electronically before physically visiting a public facility. Contact information for a variety of City services can be found here. To report an issue, please utilize See, Click, Fix.

The City of Corona is taking extra precautions for the safety and well-being of our residents and staff. We are following recommendations and best practices from the CDC and Riverside County Public Health Department. We are monitoring the situation and are prepared to respond should the situation change.
