Alcoa Dike Project: Auburndale Street & Rincon Street Closure
Heads up, Corona! The Alcoa Dike Project will require road closures of Auburndale Street and Rincon Street next week.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
• Auburndale will be closed March 17th & March 18th from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for paving.
• Rincon will be closed between Corydon Street and Smith Street on March 18th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to remove the steel plates and temporary asphalt.
Please be advised that traffic delays are to be expected. Plan accordingly by taking alternate routes and allowing more travel time for known traffic delays. The USACE and City of Corona appreciates your patience and support while we make these important infrastructure improvements. We apologize for the temporary inconvenience.
About the Alcoa Dike Project
The Alcoa Dike Project “Project” is a United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) project in partnership with Orange County, located in the City of Corona, and the purpose of the Project is designed to protect adjacent businesses along Rincon Street from a 190-year flooding event. Construction started in late December 2018 and is anticipated to be completed by Spring of 2020.
