SEXUAL BATTERY INVESTIGATION AND ARREST
Corona, CA– On November 24, 2019 at 4:39 p.m., Corona Police Department officers responded to the Target located at 2615 Tuscany, Corona, regarding a sexual battery that occurred in the parking lot in front of the store. During this incident, the adult female victim was loading items into her vehicle, when a male suspect approached from behind and groped her. The suspect fled the location in a vehicle described as possibly a silver Ford Expedition, California license plate 4YNK070. He was further described as a heavy set white male adult in his 20’s with long, curly red hair.
This was the second such incident that occurred at this location, with the prior incident occurring on October 28, 2019. The suspect is believed to be the same in both incidents.
The suspect in this investigation was positively identified as 25-year-old Matthew Strazicich of Riverside, California. On November 27 at approximately 8:45 a.m., Corona Police Detectives responded to the 3500 block of Banbury Drive, Riverside, in an attempt to contact Strazicich at his residence. Detectives were successful in locating both Strazicich and his vehicle at the location. Strazicich was arrested for the two misdemeanor sexual assaults that occurred in Corona and will be transported to Riverside County Jail for booking.
It is believed Strazicich committed similar crimes in Western Riverside County. If you are a victim and recognize Strazicich, please contact the local authority to report the incident.
