CORONA, CAThe Corona City Council will take action to appoint Jacob Ellis as new City Manager on November 6, 2019. This decision will conclude a nationwide executive recruitment search conducted by Ralph Andersen and Associates that resulted in attracting 46 qualified applicants.

“We are delighted to have Mr. Ellis join the City of Corona team as our new City Manager,” said Mayor Jason Scott. “The City Council desired a highly qualified individual with experience in an array of city departments and operations. The Council, along with Interim City Manager Mitch Lansdell, were engaged in the hiring process. We are confident Jacob Ellis has the passion to lead Corona and bring positive energy, open communication, and collaboration. We hope everyone will reach out and give a warm welcome to Mr. Ellis and his family.”

Mr. Ellis comes to the City of Corona with 14 years of City Management experience and expertise. He has worked for the City of Gilbert, Arizona, for the past four years, most recently as Deputy Town Manager. The City of Gilbert is an award-winning, rapidly growing, fiscally responsible City located in the Phoenix Arizona Metropolitan Area with a population of over 252,000, 1,300 full-time employees, and an annual budget of over one billion dollars.

He has extensive experience in Human Resources, Risk Management, Organizational Development, Economic Development, Finance, Parks and Recreation Programs and Operations, Community Development Services, and Transportation Planning.

Mr. Ellis holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Brigham Young University, a Master of Public Administration from Cleveland State University, and a Juris Doctor from Cleveland Marshall College of Law. Mr. Ellis’ first day of service with the City of Corona will be Monday, November 25, 2019.
