GRIFFIN PARK SET TO REOPEN NEXT YEAR
The City of Corona is happy to announce the reopening of Griffin Park, currently projected for July 2020. Griffin Park is a 13-acre neighborhood park, located near Griffin Way and Brittany Drive, that was closed in 2008.
A Griffin Park update was provided at the Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting held on Wednesday, August 14, 2019. Current funding from the Capital Improvement Project (CIP) Budget will provide $481,596 toward basic improvements necessary to open the park. These include an ADA pathway, path lighting, native plant hydroseeding, irrigation repairs, and parking lot rehabilitation.
Help Us Enhance Griffin Park
Other currently unfunded proposed amenities for Griffin Park include a small dog park and exercise equipment. The City of Corona invites local organizations to help us improve our parks through partnerships and donations. Every bit helps and any donation amount, big or small is appreciated.
Current Project Timeline
The project will be designed in Fall 2019, bidding will open in Spring 2020, and construction will begin in Summer 2020.
