Caltrans: 60 Swarm Continues on State Route 60
60 SWARM - AN UPDATE FROM THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) 60 Swarm projects continue on State Route 60 (SR-60) to repair deteriorated pavement slabs and replace the Pipeline, Monte Vista and Benson Avenue bridges.
The SR-60 Pavement Rehabilitation Project will continue this weekend with week four, of fifteen weekends, of full directional closures of eastbound SR-60 between Interstate 15 (I15) and the 60/91/215 Junction in Riverside from Friday at 10:00 p.m. through Monday at 5:00 a.m. There are five remaining weekend closures of eastbound SR-60 followed by seven weekend closures of westbound SR-60. All lanes and ramps are closed during the directional closures. There will be no closures on Labor Day or Veteran’s Day holiday weekends.
Motorists are advised to use State Route 91 (SR-91) and Interstate 10 (I-10) around the 60 Swarm as alternate routes to avoid delays.
For the re-paving project; eastbound SR-60 nighttime lane and ramp closures will take place from Valley Way to the 60/91/215 junction in Riverside. Closures will take place August 13 to August 16, from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Westbound SR-60 nighttime lane and ramp closures will take place from the I-15 to Euclid Avenue.
August 16, westbound SR-60 full directional freeway and ramp closures from Ramona Avenue to S. Reservoir Street will take place from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Please follow the posted alternate routes.
A traffic reconfiguration will occur on SR-60 west of I-15 for the duration of the project. Lanes will be available in each direction on SR-60 during the day. The speed limit will be lowered to 55 miles per hour within the project limits. For up to date information on the 60 Swarm projects call the 60 Swarm hotline at 1-833-607-9276.
