Seniors 50+ visit the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway
On Wednesday, June 26, 2019, the Senior Travel Program “Explore. Dream. Discover.” will journey to the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. Sign up for this special excursion and enjoy a day of fun and adventure!
The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is the world’s largest rotating tram car, traveling over two-and-one-half miles along the breathtaking cliffs of Chino Canyon, transporting riders to the pristine wilderness of the Mt. San Jacinto State Park. During your approximately ten minute journey, tram cars rotate slowly, offering picturesque and spectacular vistas of the valley floor below. Once you reach the Mountain Station, elevation 8,516 feet, enjoy the observation decks, natural history museum, two documentary theaters, gift shop, and over 50 miles of hiking trails. Pack a picnic lunch or purchase a lunch at the Pines Café ($3.50 - $8.95). If you intend to hike, please bring plenty of water with you.
The weather at the Mountain Station is typically 30-40 degrees cooler than on the desert floor and there is a possibility of snow on the ground, so please dress accordingly.
Sign up now for the next excursion!
The cost is $55.00 per person, which includes transportation and tip for the bus driver.
This program is offered to active, independent seniors 50+ years of age. A caregiver or family member, 18 years of age or older, is welcome to accompany any senior who requires assistance, but is required to pay all trip-related costs.
