Forbes features Corona as a leader in Innovation & Technology “Behind the Shift”
Forbes featured the City of Corona in their article entitled “Behind the Shift” to highlight Corona's partnership with Microsoft and dedication to creating a modern workplace with the use of Microsoft 365. Through investing in innovative practices, Corona provides greater efficiency in service delivery ranging from police and fire fighting to department of water and power, library services, street sweeping and more.
"Government bodies have a reputation for being slow to change and slow to innovate, but thanks to the support of the city’s leadership officials, Corona was determined to move forward. Adopting cloud technology is one part of the city’s steps toward modernization. Kyle Edgeworth, Deputy Chief Information Officer at the City of Corona, describes what drove the change, “Our IT infrastructure had traditionally been focused on an on-premises design for the past 20 years. Many solutions were homegrown rather than off-the-shelf solutions, so we weren’t realizing the economy-of-scale and integration benefits of standardized Microsoft services.”
The City of Corona is honored to be a leader of innovation and technology in the government sector. Corona offers its more than 160,000 residents sunny skies, warm hospitality, and a high quality of life. By investing in the present to prepare for the future, Corona can move toward greater efficiencies in local government service delivery.
“Our modernization project is giving us an IT environment that serves the city and its citizens with efficiency, safety, and value. To me that’s a real success story,” says Chris McMasters, Corona’s Chief Information Officer.
