Celebrate Arbor Day with your Corona City Council
Poet Christina Rossetti wrote, “spring is when life’s alive in everything.” Celebrate Arbor Day this Spring with your Corona City Council. The City of Corona is dedicated to continually adding to its urban forest of more than 61,000 trees and keeping Corona a beautiful place to live. This year’s Arbor Day Celebration will recognize and signify the City introducing 5 separate council districts.
A 24” Ornamental Bradford Pear will be planted on April 26, 2019 at 3 p.m. on the City Hall South Lawn, located at 400 S. Vicentia Ave. The tree will be planted as a marker tree to represent the City’s districts. The public is invited to attend.
The following week, a tree will be planted at a chosen city park by the Parks & Recreation Commissioners representing each of the Council Members and their respective districts.
District 1: Promenade Park, Date/Time TBD
District 4: Serfas Club Park on Tuesday, April 30 at 4 p.m.
District 5: Eagle Glen Park on Wednesday, May 1 at 9 a.m.
The National Arbor Day Foundation has named Corona a “Tree City USA” for over 25 years for its commitment to the environment. Tree City USA is a program that has been greening up cities and towns across America since 1976. It is a nationwide movement that provides the framework necessary for communities to manage and expand their public trees.
