California Avenue Sewer Pipeline Project Update

Post Date:04/18/2019 3:41 PM

Final construction work is now taking place on California Avenue to complete the sewer pipeline project.

Work Details:
California Avenue will be paved between Pico Street and East Ontario Avenue

Dates/Work Hours:
7 p.m. on Monday, April 22 through 5 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23
7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23 through 5 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24

California Avenue will be paved between Pico Street and East Ontario Avenue beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 22 and continuing into the next morning. The work will resume Tuesday, April 23 at 7:00 p.m. and conclude the following morning. Work is being performed at night to minimize daytime traffic disruptions. These sections of road will be either flagged for through traffic or closed intermittently when paving operations extend the full width of the street. Access to driveways will be impacted during the nighttime work, but open during normal business hours. Construction staff and signs will be directing vehicles through the construction zone. Where possible, it is advised to take alternate routes to your destination between 7:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. Delays may occur along California Avenue and nearby streets due to this paving work.California Avenue

Final paving represents the last significant work to be done on this project. However, additional work is necessary to complete the project, such as raising sewer manholes to grade, lining the interior of manholes, and traffic striping. We expect these last work items to be accomplished over the next 3 to 4 weeks. Striping will be performed at night. The remaining work will require localized traffic control around each work area. Access to businesses will remain open during this time.

We thank you for your patience and look forward to completion of this critical infrastructure benefiting Corona for years to come.
