🌳Keeping our Landscapes Healthy & Beautiful: Replacing diseased trees along Green River and Serfas Club Drive

Post Date:03/07/2019 2:00 PM

The City Of Corona continually monitors its Urban Forest and proactively works to maintain healthy trees within its forest.

The City of Corona Maintenance Services team recently identified Liquid Ambers along Green River and Serfas Club Drive that were starting to show stress and decline. The trees were examined by a third party arborist and were identified to have a bacterial disease (Xylella Fastidiosa) that was inhibiting the trees from receiving nutrients. The trees have since continued to decline and will ultimately die.

In order to keep our the landscape beautiful and prevent any potential spread along Green River, from Paseo Grande to Suncrest and on Serfas Club Drive from Green River to Palisades, the City will be removing the infected trees. Staff will be replacing them with 24” box Camphors and Respire Pear trees. We expect these trees will thrive and provide good contrast and canopy along the street. The project will start the second week of March and with weather permitting will be completed within 3 to 4 weeks.

If you have any questions about this effort, please contact Corona's Parks Superintendent Moses Cortez at
