Water Rescues

CORONA, CA– This morning, the City of Corona Fire Department and Corona Police Department responded to numerous calls for people in need of rescue from swift moving and flood water areas. A total of nine adult victims and three dogs were rescued from flooded channels and river beds.  One adult female victim was removed from a flood channel in cardiopulmonary arrest. The patient was transported to Corona Regional Medical Center by AMR with Corona Fire personnel providing patient care during transport.

These rescues tasked most of the available resources in Corona.  Partner agencies from Riverside City Fire Department, Riverside County Fire Department, Anaheim Fire and Rescue, and Chino Valley Fire District assisted us with city coverage during this time. We would like to remind everyone to avoid flowing water and flooded areas during this rainy season. Motorist should not attempt to drive through standing water.
