BURGLARY SUSPECT ARRESTED AND PROPERTY RECOVERED
CORONA, CA–On December 8, 2018, around 6:26 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 1800 block of Duncan Way after receiving a call from the homeowner saying she saw two males in her driveway loading property into their vehicle.
Police officers arrived at the residence and confirmed the suspects forced their way into the residence. Officers did not locate suspects inside the residence. As part of their investigation, officers checked with neighbors leading to the discovery one of the neighbors was able to obtain a photograph of the vehicle, including the license plate. A records check of the license plate revealed the vehicle was a reported stolen car.
Through further investigation, the officer handling the case was able to locate the vehicle on Klyne Street in El Cerrito, parked in front of a residence which had a male subject, Mario Nunez 22 years old, on probation living there. A probation compliance check of the residence revealed Nunez was in possession of the keys to the stolen vehicle and the stolen property taken from the Duncan Way residence. Additional property, also believed to be stolen, was discovered inside the residence as well, and officers are following up on returning the property to its owner.
Officers arrested Nunez for burglary, possession of stolen property, vehicle theft with priors, counterfeiting access cards, ID theft, and felon in possession of ammunition.
