Holy Fire Mandatory Evacuations // Canyon Fire Burn Area Storm Readiness

MANDATORY EVACUATIONS FOR RESIDENTS NEAR THE HOLY FIRE BURN AREA

As of today, Dec. 6, THUNDERSTORMS ARE predicted for the Holy Fire burn area Thursday afternoon. Mandatory evacuation in the following zones was ordered effective immediately today: Amorose, Alberhill, Glen Ivy A, Glen Ivy B, Glen Eden, Grace, Horsethief A, Laguna A, Matri, McVicker A, Rice, Withrow A. People in these zones MUST GO NOW.

Please note, the boundaries of these evacuation zones have changed from previous evacuation warnings in the Holy burn area. It is critical that residents look online at www.RivCoReady.org/StormReady to determine the zone in which they live and the status of that zone.

A care and reception center is open at Temescal Canyon High School, located at 28755 El Toro Road in Lake Elsinore.

FOR CORONA RESIDENTS IN CANYON FIRE BURN AREAS

There is a possibility of thunderstorms occurring today over the Canyon Fire burn area. Thunderstorms are unpredicatable, can occur without warning, and are capable of triggering debris flow. Residents in the Canyon Fire burn area are asked to remain vigilant, stay alert, and monitor information sources. Those living in this area should follow city information and think about what to do should they be asked to leave their homes. Officials will provide warning if possible but may only be able to alert the public with just a few minutes notice for future evacuations. It is critical that you remain vigilant and take personal responsibility for your surroundings.

Remember to Sign up for Emergency Notifications! The City of Corona has a local notification system that will send telephone notifications to resident and business during an emergency. Only land-lines are in the system. Register your cell phone number and select if you would like to receive an additional notification by email and/or text. Visit www.CoronaCA.gov/ENS to register!

Sandbags are available! In preparation for the upcoming storm, up to ten free pre-filled sandbags are available for Corona Residents at Santana Park. There are also sandbags at Fire Station #5 at Canyon Crest for residents of the Canyon Fire Burn Area. 

Remember when rainfall events are predicted regardless of how large or small, stay vigilant as weather can change quickly.
