Post Date:11/28/2018 12:40 PM

The City of Corona is a community where people care - and we welcome your involvement in making our community a more vibrant place to live, work, and go to school.

The City has various Boards and Commissions, made up of local residents, that provide input to City departments and activities. We are currently accepting applications for the Planning and Housing Commission, the Parks and Recreation Commission, and the Library Board of Trustees.

Get involved, apply now!

Apply online now or at the City Clerk’s office located at Corona City Hall, 400 South Vicentia Avenue, Suite 155. Applications will be accepted now through Monday, December 10, 2018.

The Library Board of Trustees is made up of five Corona residents who are not currently city employees or officials. They are appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council to serve a three-year term. A trustee is expected to participate in committees as needed, task forces, and attend library events while acting as an advocate for the library in the community. A Library Trustee should be passionate about libraries and the values libraries uphold, supporting all those in their pursuit of lifelong learning without bias.

The Parks & Recreation Commission is comprised of five members, all of whom shall be residents of the City and shall not hold any paid office or employment with the City or Corona. Members each serve four-year terms. The commissioners act in an advisory role to the City Council and make recommendations concerning recreation programs, maintenance and operation of the public park system and the planting, care and removal of trees within the parkways.

The Planning and Housing Commission is comprised of five members, all of whom shall be residents of the City and shall not hold any paid office or employment with the City. Members serve four-year terms. Commissioners act in an advisory role to the City Council and make recommendations pursuant to California Government Code Section 65100.
