Increased Lifesaving Capabilities come to the Corona Fire Department
For the first time in history, the Corona Fire Department has assigned a Firefighter/Paramedic to Truck 1 to provide Advanced Life Support to our community.
Increased lifesaving capabilities come to the Corona Fire Department through strategic changes. Corona Truck 1 will now serve as a Paramedic Unit which will increase paramedic coverage in the City of Corona by nearly 14%. This efficiency was made by tactically reassigning existing personnel; no new personnel were added and no costs were incurred by the change.
“This modification to our resource deployment will bring greater efficiencies to our department and allow us to maximize our life-saving abilities,” said Chief Brian Young. “It will increase our unit availability for other 911 calls, decrease paramedic response time, and reduce the total number of unit responses.”
