Attend a Women’s Self-Defense Demo & Workshop for Free with Sensei Elise Simmons!
Sensei Elise Simmons celebrated 51 years with the City of Corona this past February 2017. Elise and her husband founded Simmons Martial Arts in Corona back in 1964. Beginning in 1966, Elise teamed with the City to teach. In the 1970’s Elise was a sworn officer with the Corona Police Department and helped victims of rape and domestic violence through self-defense and rape prevention classes. Throughout her years as an instructor, seniors, women, and children of all ages have learned valuable skills in various styles including Judo, Karate, and Aikido.
“I teach my students to fight to survive,” says Sensei Elise Simmons. “I make sure they learn the techniques that work, through observing, planning, and following through with the right techniques.”

This workshop, Activity # 18824, will be held Saturday, October 7, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Circle City Center fitness studio. The free demonstration and workshop is a preview to the Self-Defense class that will cover home survival techniques, school safety, carjacking and kidnapping. Self-defense physical training will include karate, aikido and jiu-jitsu.
