ALL EVACUATIONS LIFTED IN CANYON FIRE BURN SCAR AREA
CORONA, CA–As of 4 p.m. this afternoon, all evacuations have been lifted for the Canyon Fire Burn Scar Area. This morning’s storm arrived later than anticipated and with less intensity. According to the National Weather Service, additional mild to moderate showers will continue throughout the evening.
Residents are encouraged to continue to monitor news sources and use precaution, as weather can be unpredictable. Please remember that burned slopes can remain vulnerable for years to come. It is imperative to use due diligence in preparing your family and property for future rainstorms.
Sand bags will remain available at Fire Station #5, 1200 Canyon Crest Drive, for residents of the Sierra Del Oro neighborhood, and will be placed at Santana Park as needed for residents Citywide.
The City of Corona Police Department and Corona Fire Department appreciate the community’s understanding and cooperation during this time. If you have any questions, please call the Corona Public Information Hotline at 951-817-5800.
