CORONA PUBLIC LIBRARY SPRING CONCERT SERIES
CORONA, CA–The Corona Public Library invites the community to the Annual Spring Concert Series. The concerts will be held on alternating Mondays and Wednesdays at 7 p.m. in March and April.
The Spring Concert Series kicks off on Wednesday, March 21 with Klezmer (Yiddish Jazz) performed by Richárd Bernard’s OY!Stars. It’s Eastern but Western. It laughs while it weeps. It’s happy but minor key with its infectious upbeat rave tempos, achingly soulful ballads, and inherent humor.
On Monday, March 26, The Reelers will take the stage with traditional Irish and Folk music. The Reelers, a collective of musicians, adapt music of many genres to their unique folk style. Their instrumentation includes various combinations of Violins, Guitar, Nyckelharpa, Mandolin, Bodhran, Uilleann Pipes, Whistles, Upright Bass, 5 String Banjo, Tenor Banjo, Bodhran, Cello and Drums.
On Wednesday, April 4, the Corona Symphony Orchestra Oboe and String Quartet will perform popular international and English melodies. The symphony is a non-profit orchestra delivering musical, cultural, and educational programs that not only entertain but also enrich our Corona community and the greater Inland Empire.
The concert finale will be held on Monday, April 9 with Absolute Focus performing Indian classical sounds. Married couple, Kamaljeet (Santoor) and Jas (Tabla) Ahluwalia, comprise the Art and Music Production company Absolute Focus. They have developed an international clientele and have written and produced music for live concerts, commercial advertising, album production, video games, theatrical trailers, and film/television scores.
Each concert will be one hour long, followed by a Q&A Session. For more information, please call the library at (951) 736-2381. The Annual Spring Concert Series is made possible by the Friends of the Corona Public Library.
