Fatal Traffic Collision

FATAL TRAFFIC COLLISION
CORONA, CA– On Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at 12:23 p.m. the Corona Police Department and Corona Fire Department responded to a traffic collision near the intersection of Main Street and Ontario Avenue regarding a rollover collision. When officers arrived, they saw a silver Saturn Vue resting on the driver’s side with the sole occupant partially ejected. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The second vehicle involved in the collision, a Toyota Prius was parked on Main Street, just south of Ontario Avenue with collision damage to the frontend.
The intersection of Main Street and Ontario Avenue was closed to traffic in order to complete the investigation until approximately 8:30 p.m.
The driver of the Toyota was not injured and voluntarily gave a blood sample at the Corona Police Department. It has not yet been determined if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.
Due to the injuries the victim sustained from the collision, the Riverside County Deputy Coroner was unable to confirm their identity. The Corona Police Department's Collision Response Team is investigating the collision, and the investigation is ongoing.
