Mary Louise Lowe artwork displayed at the Library

Post Date:01/12/2018 9:06 AM

Mary Louise LoweThe Corona Public Library Gallery will be featuring Mary Louise Lowe’s artistic collection for a limited time now through Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018. Stop by the library and delve into Mary’s imaginative pieces featured in the glass display cases in the entrance of the library.

Mary is a junior at Santiago High School. She has always enjoyed drawing doves and swans among other animals. While she attended Corona Fundamental Intermediate School, she started to doodle more intricate work to relieve stress and pent-up creative energy that was making it hard for her to focus at school. Over the past couple of years Mary’s dragon doodling has become a hobby. She began to create stories about the world around her and started to draw dragons and other creatures to represent characters from her stories.

This past summer, Mary participated in her first sidewalk chalk art festival at the Crossings in Corona. She drew a water dragon. She included a small clown fish in the chalk drawing with the water dragon and loved listening to the excitement of the little kids at the festival as they saw Nemo with the water dragon.

“I see my artwork as a way to share my imagination with the world,” says Mary. In addition to drawing, Mary is a violinist and plays the clarinet with the BOSS (Bands of Santiago Sharks). She is a member of the Treble Ensemble Choir at Santiago High School. Her goal is to be a kindergarten teacher focusing on the special education population and wants to share her passion for drawing, creating stories and music.
