New TraKiT Software Maximizes Efficiency in Permitting Process in Corona

NEW TRAKiT SOFTWARE MAXIMIZES EFFICIENCY IN PERMITTING PROCESS IN CORONA

CORONA, CA– The City of Corona announces the launch of TRAKiT, a comprehensive and centralized software solution that creates efficiency and flexibility in automating and coordinating the construction permitting process.  TRAKiT is replacing 5 disparate compartmentalized systems that have been in use in the city that have caused data silos, reduced visibility, and caused inefficiency across departments. TRAKiT will go live Monday, July 31, 2017 after more than a year of planning and implementation.

The customer friendly web based system tracks all building permits, inspections, site plan reviews, and code enforcement violations, allowing users to manage projects more effectively. The workflow provided by the system allows for the efficient transfer of work, providing visibility, comprehensive collaboration tools, and reporting.

TRAKiT features an integrated cashiering module that includes new PCI compliant credit card readers with chip technology to keep credit card transactions safe and secure. The system also has close integration with the City’s updated GIS system, providing the capability for data analysis based on geospatial data.  Inspectors in the field can now use mobile applications on tablet devices to update the status of inspections in real time.

TRAKiT’s web-based eTRAKiT module will allow citizens, business owners, contractors, architects, and engineers to view the status of projects, permits, and code cases, and request permit inspections. The system is interoperable with other business systems and in Phase 2 we will implement an online e-planning component which will be released in the coming months. This will allow for the electronic submittal and approval of plans. We will also augment online functionality through the new eTRAKiT portal to allow for the application and payment of certain permit types reducing the need to apply on premise at City Hall.

As with any project of this magnitude there could be unanticipated challenges during the transition to the new software platform. Staff will be working diligently to minimize impacts; however, customer patience is appreciated as the City moves to this enhanced customer facing solution.
