SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR CHILD ANNOYANCE & UNLAWFUL SEX ACTS WITH MINORS
Corona, CA- On Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, following a four month investigation, Corona Police Department detectives arrested, a 41-year-old Lake Elsinore resident, for child annoyance and unlawful sex acts with minors. The female victims contacted in this investigation range in age from 15 to 17 years old.
Mitchell is believed to have met his victims as a volunteer coach at Santiago High School and Eleanor Roosevelt High School and as a part-owner of “Player’s Edge,” a basketball gym located in the City of Corona.
In July, 2017, a 17-year-old female reported that Draper had sexually explicit conversations with her while she was an employee of Player’s Edge. The resulting investigation led detectives to another teenage female who was a former Player’s Edge employee. She reported that she quit Player’s Edge when she was 17-years-old after Mitchell committed a sexual battery on her. A third minor female was then interviewed and she disclosed that Mitchell engaged in a sex act with her while they were in the City of Eastvale.
Corona detectives investigated Mitchell in 2010 when a 15-year-old female reported similar allegations against him. That case was suspended due to a lack of evidence.
Corona-Norco Unified School District officials confirmed Mitchell is no longer a volunteer coach and did not return this season. At this time, there are no known allegations of misconduct on school property.
Detectives believe there are other possible victims who have not yet come forward. Anyone with information related to this investigation is encouraged to contact Det. John Garcia at 951-739-4858 or via email at John.Garcia@CoronaCA.gov.
