Library & Recreation Services Press Release

CORONA, CA– The City of Corona’s Library & Recreation Services Department will be hosting the 2017 Holiday Lighting Celebration on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. This year’s event will be held on the Front Lawn of the Historic Civic Center located at 815 W. Sixth St.

Holiday Lighting

Live entertainment provided by Arts Alive will create a wonderful holiday atmosphere and the Corona-Norco United Way will be serving light refreshments for all to enjoy. Children can create something special at Santa’s Workshop with Crossroads Christian Church’s helpful elves, have their picture taken with Santa himself hosted by the Corona Parks Foundation, and play in real snow donated by Thomas Miller Mortuary!

Help children in our community by bringing an unwrapped toy for the Corona Fire Department’s “Spark of Love” toy drive to ensure a happy holiday season for all. We have also partnered with the Corona Regional Medical Center’s Hospice Auxiliary to host their “Luminaries of Life” tribute to remember a loved one.

The highlight of the evening will be the ceremonial lighting of the Historic Civic Center complex to launch the holiday season in Corona.

Important Road Closure Information
On the day of the Holiday Lighting Celebration, West 6th Street will be closed between Vicentia Avenue and Buena Vista Avenue from 12 to 10 p.m. Businesses will still be accessible through the alley way behind the businesses. West 2nd Street will be used as a detour around the closure. [VIEW MAP OF CLOSURE]
