Attendees will learn an intuitive, easy-to-remember three-step plan, Avoid | Deny | Defend™, for survival in the event of an active shooter event or other public acts of violence.
The seminar is free, but you must register to attend. Students under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian to participate. Due to the popularity of this class, registration will be held on a first come, first serve basis.
About the CRASE Course
The CRASE course was developed by Texas State University and the ALERRT program to provide the public with some guidelines on what to do during an active shooter or any disaster type event. This course is presented across the nation by law enforcement agencies to better prepare their communities for tragic events like mass shootings.
Since 2002, the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT)™ Program at Texas State University has been used to train law enforcement officers across the nation in how to rapidly respond to dangerous active threat situations.
As a result of increased public awareness, many citizens have asked what individuals can do protect themselves and reduce the dangers faced during one of these events. Avoid | Deny |Defend™ has been developed as an easy to remember method for individuals to follow. To learn more about the class, please visit www.CoronaCA.gov/CRASE.
In compliance with the American with Disabilities Act, if you need special assistance to participate in this event, please contact the ADA coordinator at (951) 739-4823.
